Bahá'í Houses of Worship

A Bahá'í House of Worship, or Mashriqu'l-Adhkár, as it is known in Arabic/Persian, is regarded as "the dawning place of the mention of God" (the literal translation of Mashriqu'l-Adhkár). Each House of Worship consists of a nine-sided building with a dome and is open for all to worship God.

There are currently seven (7) Bahá'í Houses of Worship in the world:

• Wilmette (Chicago), Illinois (dedicated 1953) (official home page)
• Kampala, Uganda (dedicated 1961)
• Ingleside (Sydney), Australia (dedicated 1961) (official home page)
• Langenhain (Frankfurt), Germany (dedicated 1964)
• Panama City, Panama (dedicated 1972)
• Apia, Western Samoa (dedicated 1984)
• Bahapur (New Delhi), India (dedicated 1986)

An eighth House of Worship has been announced for Santiago, Chile.
