Your clearinghouse for information on Tracey Ullman and her work in television, film, theater and recording This site is devoted to the career and work of Tracey Ullman, British actress/comedienne/social satirist/singer/dancer extraordinaire. I have been an admirer of her since March 1984, when I first saw her perform her hit single "They Don't Know" on the old Solid Gold TV show. And I have enjoyed nearly everything she's done since, from film to television to theater and even the literary world. On this site, I try to cover her entire career, including her musical work, her British television work, her Fox series, her film and theatrical work, etc. I even mention her online business venture Purple Skirt (Purple Pants appears to have folded). It has outlasted both of the official Websites for Tracey Takes On... (the Takes On site and the HBO site, both of which are now defunct but should be accessible via the Internet Archive), which were devoted almost exclusively to TTO, though there is word that the Takes On site will be revived as Tracey's personal site. As of Dec. 13, 2003, that hasn't happened; www.takeson.com still takes you to Purple Skirt (but see www.traceytakeson.com for the new official site for the show. As of April 2005, Purple Skirt is no longer accessible via the Web. For the latest news, see the News page
Abbreviations: you'll note that I frequently use TTO to refer to Tracey Takes On... and TTUS to refer to The Tracey Ullman Show. TTO can also refer to this Website, but it usually refers to the series. Translations: you can use AltaVista's Babelfish translation service to translate this page into various languages. Caution: the translations will not be perfect! A note about forwarding e-mail: Occasionally, I've been asked to forward e-mail messages to Tracey. It is my policy not to do this. If you wish to send e-mail to her or to anyone connected with her series, it may still be possible to do so via tracey@takeson.com, the address that used to be at the Takes On website. However, this may no longer work. Please do not ask me to forward e-mail to her. If you want to send anything to her via "snail mail" (i.e., regular mail), send it to her at this address: IFA Comments? Feel free to add your remarks to the guestbook or e-mail them to me.
